Information
The Joker's design offers so many possibilities that it's tempting to 'stick' it into almost any optical system you'll come across. An obvious and popular device is the ETC Source-4. This elegant design of a pattern and a Gobo projector has appeared in various applications and is widely used in events.
The BUG-A-BEAM Adapter is the part that makes mating a Source-4 and our Bug-Light 400 or 800 not only possible but quick and easy. The MSR/HMI 400 (or 800) lamp offers many advantages in this particular application; its 6mm arc gap is quite spot-on and very well suited for such an optical design. The efficiency ratio of 4 to 1 of the HMI compared to the tungsten incandescence, explains the gain of two Stops/diaph.
This huge increase in light level allows patterns to be visible in higher ambient light levels, over longer distances as well as through the densest color gels.
The Bug A Beam 800 System kit includes: a BAB400/800 adapter ring, a standard ETC back with larger mirror opening, a G22 socket extension.
